Antique Tono Sumbul Cordial patent medicine bottle manufactured by William R. Warner & Co. Clear glass bottle with embossed maker markings and a substantial portion of the original paper label still intact and readable. An example of Tono Sumbul Cordial is held in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History collection, where it is dated 1895–1906 and identified as a William R. Warner & Company product made in Philadelphia. The Smithsonian describes Tono Sumbul as a historic tonic that was marketed as a tonic and heart stimulant intended to promote appetite, rest and sleep. Its listed ingredients included sumbul, phosphate of iron, cinchona, acid phosphate, aromatics and sherry wine. This example has especially nice display appeal because the TONO SUMBUL name remains bold and clearly visible on the surviving original label. Embossed glass lettering is present on the reverse.Original antique condition with age-related staining, wear and losses to the paper label as shown. Bottle is empty and sold strictly as a historic collectible/display piece.
