Antique Wicklow Distillery Old Irish Whiskey stoneware jug or flagon, dating to approximately 1890–1915, featuring the distinctive owl trademark and original Port-Dundas Pottery Co. maker’s mark.
This antique whiskey jug features a classic two-tone glazed stoneware finish, with a cream-colored body and brown glazed neck and handle.
The front displays black transfer-printed lettering reading “WICKLOW DISTILLERY OLD IRISH WHISKEY”, surrounding the distinctive illustration of an owl perched on a branch.
Beneath the illustration is the original capacity marking, “GUARANTEED ¼ GALLON.”
The underside bears the impressed oval manufacturer’s COY.
Manufactured in Glasgow, Scotland, for the Irish whiskey trade, this stoneware flagon is an example of late Victorian to early Edwardian advertising pottery.

Very good antique condition with no cracks, chips or repairs with the exception of the rim.
The cream-colored stoneware body displays scattered dark speckling, surface discoloration, and minor glaze imperfections.
The black transfer-printed lettering and owl illustration remain well-defined and legible.
The underside exhibits surface wear, staining, and scuffing consistent with age and use. The impressed Port-Dundas Pottery manufacturer’s mark remains clearly visible.
The handle is intact.
