Up for your consideration is a stunning Inuit carving from the 1870’s. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. Thus had been displayed in my home for many years. Made of whale vertebrae and seashells it measures 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide. He told me that it belonged to an Inuit Shaman. A very unique piece. This antique 1870's Inuit whale vertebrae seashell mask face shaman carving from Canada showcases the cultural significance and craftsmanship of Canadian Aboriginal tribes. Handmade with a rich history of ownership, this unique piece is a testament to the artistry and traditions of the Inuit people. The combination of natural materials and intricate design make it a valuable collectible for those interested in Canadian Aboriginal culture and history.
