While the interior rose silk cushion is unembossed, this item was recovered from the exact same estate and family collection as a matching portrait definitively stamped "R. Knecht, Easton, PA." The identical 1/6 plate case dimensions, velvet trim, and brass mat style strongly imply this portrait was taken by the same studio or during the exact same time period (circa 1852–1856).**Case & Hardware:**
Housed in its original early-1850s embossed leather-over-wood geometric case. The design features a striking central acanthus leaf medallion surrounded by a distinct basketweave/latticework pattern and outer scrollwork corners. The classic inner brass frame and mat are fully intact.**Condition Notes:**
* Plate: Displays typical silver oxidation, tarnish rings, and minor spotting primarily around the edges of the oval brass frame. The central image of the woman remains crisp, sharp, and highly legible with excellent contrast. The plate surface has NOT been cleaned or touched to preserve its historical integrity.
