The piece is the bottom portion of the letter: the typed closing "Very truly yours," followed by Shaw's signature as "Anna H. Shaw," with the date in manuscript beneath.Shaw was a leading figure in the American woman suffrage movement. A physician and ordained minister, she served as president of the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) from 1904 to 1915 and remained a prominent voice for the cause until her death in 1919, a year before the 19th Amendment was ratified.A nice, affordable signed piece from a key figure in women's suffrage history, suitable for framing or adding to a collection of suffrage, women's history, or early 20th-century political autographs.CONDITION: Cut-down segment (no letter body).
