An outstanding antique lost wax bronze inkwell and pen tray featuring two Dachshund dog figures on a naturalistic base. The fine workmanship features intricate details and subtle patination, with the inkwell hidden within the tree stump. The two Dachshunds are beautifully modeled and full of detail and personality. This gorgeous piece is marked Austria and bears the artist's signature, P. Brehm. Overall size is 8" long by 4" deep by 2" tall. The original glass ink holder (still lightly strained with ink) remains inside the tree stump. Aged patina, appropriate for its age. No dents, bends, repairs or restoration. Some moisture discoloration within the inkwell holder, please see photos, does not show when displayed. The hinge on the tree stump covering the inkwell works beautifully. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description.
