A camping essential! This early 20th century stovetop/campfire toaster heats by convection. Place its stable square base on a campfire grate or other hot, flat surface, lean up to four pieces of bread on the outside racks, and turn each piece of bread over once during the toasting process. Heat rises up the chimney and exits the surrounding ventilation slots, toasting the bread. No electricity needed!
Not just a practical piece, but also one which can give a kitchen or other living space a primitive country feel. And if you have a wood or coal-fired stove, you have another way to toast bread when the power goes out!
