This figurine is a replica of Michelangelo\'s famous Moses sculpture, depicted seated with his long flowing beard and holding the tablets of the Ten Commandments.
Mounted on a block of yellow marble. Vintage and imported from Israel, features a weighted silver finish and marked 925. Approximately 6” X 2-11/16”. The original monumental marble sculpture was carved by Michelangelo Buonarroti around 1513-1515 and sits in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. These smaller .925 sterling silver castings are highly collectible vintage Judaica pieces, often produced in Israel by various silversmiths and artists. Appears to be produced by Ben-Zion (1897-1987).
