I came across this tiny box of souvenir cocktail forks in the very back of the drawer of my mom\'s china cabinet, something I had never noticed before. I can remember her talking about the beautiful department store in Washington, D.C. but did not know she had made this souvenir purchase there. These pickle forks have 3 tines, measure 3 7/8 inches long, were made in Italy, and feature the United States Capitol Building at the tops. They are silver-plated, but I do not know what the underlying material could be. There is some aging to the finish, as shown in the photos. I do not serve the fancier style of meals and will not be using these. I personally would consider this set of forks more important as a souvenir from the iconic flagship store that served so many in its heyday, than as souvenirs of the city of D.C. or the Capitol building.
