This 7” mortoniceras species ammonite comes from a Fort Worth formation exposure in Tarrant County, TX, where it was found during construction. I won this ammonite at an sale and touched it up using air abrasive.
I’ve heavily discounted this specimen do to repairs that were originally made as described below.
Approximately 7” diameter
Approximately 2 lbs 8 oz unpacked
$4 STAND IS INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE.
PURCHASE FULLY INSURED during shipment
A crack is visible on the backside where a repair was done prior to my purchase. I did some touching up to the crack on the side where it was most visible, making it difficult to see. PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS FOR FULL VIEW AND MEASUREMENTS.
Its estimated age of 90-100 million years old places it in the age of dinosaurs, when a vast sea known as the western interior seaway covered the middle of the North American continent.
