Kuniyoshi playing cards are a line of two poker decks inspired by Utagawa Kuniyoshi's ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints) and created by 52 Musee, a sub-brand of TCC Playing Card Company which specializes in turning masterpieces into holographic playing cards. The Collection Box contains both the Kuniyoshi Standard Edition deck and the Kuniyoshi Special Edition deck in an embossed outer box with red foil and a belly band showing the Soma no Furudairi triptych (where Takiyasha the Witch summons a giant skeleton to scare Ooya no Mitsukuni).
The Standard Edition deck is focused on Utagawa Kuniyoshi's depictions of yokai (supernatural creatures), samurai, and some of the heroes from Suikoden (originally the Chinese novel Shuihu zhuan, English translation Water Margin). Suikoden tells the story of a band of 108 rebels who tried to protect the poor and downtrodden (much like Robin Hood's band). Only 2000 decks were made, each with 52 cards + 2 jokers + 1 introduction card + 1 holographic artwork card. The card designs feature full Laser HOLO illustrations on the card faces (Index with no pips).
The gold gilded Kuniyoshi Special Edition deck features unique Suikoden heroes (different from the Standard Edition) with full Laser HOLO illustrations on the card faces (Index with no pips), and contains52 cards + 2 jokers + 1 introduction card + 1 holographic artwork card. Only 1000 decks of this edition were produced.
