Archival Quality and Protection
Mylites sleeves are constructed from Mylar D, an inert, chemically stable material trusted by major archives for long-term preservation.
Non-Degrading: Mylar is acid-free and will not yellow, cloud, or degrade over centuries. This eliminates the need for future re-bagging.
Clarity: The film is crystal clear, providing excellent visibility for display.
Environmental Barrier: Provides a robust shield against oxygen, moisture, fungus, mold, and environmental acids. The material is hundreds of times more resistant to gas diffusion than typical poly bags.
Physical Strength: The 2 mil thickness offers reliable structural integrity for heavier magazines and graphic novels.
Usage and Recommendations
The sleeves feature a fold-over flap that can be secured with archival-safe tape (not included) for a complete, dust-free enclosure.
For optimal protection of magazines and comics, these Mylites 2 sleeves should be paired with the corresponding E. Gerber Magazine or Large Comic Backing Boards (Full Backs or Half Backs).
