As described in the title line a First Day of Issue for the individual honored by this US Postage Stamp. 100% fresh and without fault. ======= The First Day of Issue is a long practice in the stamp collecting field that collectors desire for the stamp issue postmarked on the first day that the stamp is available for sale to the public and released normally in just one city as seen in the postmark. This cover has the "special" cancellation by the USPS, much different than the typical First Day of Issue Cancellation. All of these cancels, some in color, matches directly with the topic of the stamp.
