This is a unique Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet belt buckle from the Sierra Nevada Chapter — the chapter name used before it later became known as the Reno Chapter in Nevada.
Issued for the 2009 Annual Big Game Banquet, this buckle also commemorates the 25th Anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (1984–2009), making it a special cross-collectible piece for both RMEF supporters and Western buckle collectors.
Manufactured by Montana Silversmiths, this is a high-quality silver and gold-tone engraved buckle featuring:
Bull elk centerpiece
Detailed western scroll engraving
“Banquet Edition” marking
“25th Anniversary Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation”
Chapter designation: SIERRA NEVADA
Dated 2009
Because the chapter later transitioned to the Reno Chapter, items bearing the original “Sierra Nevada” chapter name were only produced for a limited number of years. Many of these were sold only at the banquet sale/raffle and never available at retail. This makes the buckle not only a wearable western piece, but also a historical RMEF chapter collectible.
It does show wear, however, it still looks good. Please zoom in on the pictures to really see detailed condition.Once these banquet items are dispersed into private collections, they rarely come back to market.Includes original Montana Silversmiths presentation case.
Perfect for:
This buckle was issued when the local RMEF chapter was still known as the Sierra Nevada Chapter, before later becoming the Reno Chapter. Because of the name change, Sierra Nevada marked banquet items were produced for a limited period and are harder to find today. Great for any collector!
