Offered together are two matching vintage real photo postcards depicting a dramatic formation of three military-style aircraft over the San Diego Civic Center and waterfront.
The photographs present a striking historical view of downtown San Diego, its harbor, and the newly constructed Civic Center, completed in 1938. The aircraft formation makes this an especially interesting subject for collectors of early aviation, military history, California photography, and San Diego memorabilia.

Condition and provenance:
Both postcards survive with well-defined photographic imagery and visible signs of age and storage.
The reverses exhibit characteristic age toning and discoloration, including areas consistent with prolonged storage in an old-fashioned photographic album or scrapbook. The staining patterns suggest historic album or mounting-paper contact rather than ordinary postal handling, although the original storage method cannot be conclusively established.
Minor surface marks, handling wear, and age-related imperfections are present. Please examine the detailed photographs of both fronts and reverses for an accurate assessment of condition.
Historical interest:
These postcards document a distinctive period in San Diego\'s development as both a major aviation center and an important Pacific Coast military and naval city.
The combination of the waterfront Civic Center, harbor activity, downtown skyline, and overhead aircraft creates an unusually appealing aviation-themed photographic view.
Two original vintage postcards are included in this lot. Both cards shown will be supplied.
Shipping:Carefully protected and securely packaged to preserve the postcards during transit.
