1990 Dunhill Shell Briar pipe, sandblasted finish, in box with Leather pouch and original paperwork. The Pipe is stamped 4202 and the box is marked 4002. I was told that the different designations signify the pipe shape, the stem shape and other design factors of this particular pipe.This pipe along with several others were passed down by a late relative who had an extensive collection of smoked and unsmoked pipes. This one sat on the shelf unsmoked.I had a local pipe expert examine the markings and he was able to tell me that the \"30\" stamping puts this pipe with a 1990 manufacturer date. he inspected and assured me it is UNSMOKED. Being unfiltered there are no marks, soot or charring in the stem or well.I will be listing one other unsmoked pipe, and at some point the smoked ones as well.
