This excellent period street view prominently captures the colorful “Bob Stupak’s VEGAS WORLD” exterior signage and casino frontage, along with the entrance marquee, palm trees and numerous early-1980s automobiles traveling and parked along Las Vegas Boulevard.
Vegas World was Bob Stupak’s distinctive space-themed Las Vegas hotel and casino, which opened in 1979. The property operated as Vegas World until 1995, when it closed for redevelopment and its hotel structures were incorporated into the Stratosphere project.
The original slide mount is stamped AUG 82H, providing an excellent period date for the photograph.
The combination of the original Vegas World signage, vintage automobiles, casino architecture and documented 1982 date makes this an especially appealing image for collectors of vintage Las Vegas, Nevada casinos, Bob Stupak memorabilia and historic roadside photography.
