Original Vintage 1967 Au Roy Gourmet Restaurant Menu Victor Daniel Chef Place Des Victoires Paris France
Au Roy Gourmet was serving at 4 place des Victoires in Paris by the mid-1920s, listed in Curnonsky and Marcel Rouff\'s La France gastronomique in 1925 and counted by La Revue culinaire in 1926 among the small restaurants notable for their cooking, prices and clientele. Chef-patron Victor Daniel ran the house — it was also known as Chez Victor — and in 1951 the New York Herald Tribune named it among Paris\'s better-known bistros alongside Chez l\'Ami Louis. The 1960 Michelin rated it a plain but good restaurant, its specialties andouillettes de Troyes, filets de sole and Steak Roy Gourmet, and Claude Chabrol shot scenes of Les Bonnes Femmes there the same year. It closed at an undetermined date; recalling the classic bistros of the Place des Victoires, food critic Gilles Pudlowski wrote that the square once had two — the Roy Gourmet and the Louis XIV, both since vanished.
It measures 14\" x 10\"
