MONT BLANC 144 fountain pen with a very rare and bespoke 14k KOB- Kugel Oblique Broad point nib that writes lovely. The nib is very smooth and very flexy and is a true pleasure to write with. These 144 celluloids are well known to be amazing writers and this one is no exception.
Kugel nibs were meant to be more similar to how a ballpoint pen writes, but this nib is a completely different story, as it is also an oblique broad. It is very smooth, while being flexible with good writing response.
This 144 was made around the middle of the production of the celluloid lineup. Earlier models were named 144G on the knob. Later models got the silicone gasket and the round feed. This one has a brand new cork installed and also the more desirable ski-slope flat feed.
It features a telescopic piston filler with a brand new cork gasket which works well.
The pen is in mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. There are no cracks, or personal engravings. The 3 cap rings are firmly in place. The ink window stripes are in great condition and were painted from the inside, Montblanc was the only one to do that and they even patented it at the time. The ink window, being celluloid, is very prone to ambering, but this one is still visible.
The pen has been serviced, throughly cleaned and lubricated with silicone. You can see it fully disassembled in one of the pictures.
Shipping is with DHL/Fedex Express, usually takes 1-5 days worldwide. In most cases, there are no custom duties for my customers, however I cannot guarantee this, thus any possible customs chargers are the buyers response.
It comes as in pictures.
The pen is guaranteed authentic
