His Story Archives Presents:1950 "Liberate Taiwan" Commemorative Badge
Certified AU58 | Bao Cui Certified | Early People's Republic of China Political Memorabilia
Few objects capture the atmosphere of the early Cold War in East Asia more vividly than political badges issued during the formative years of the People's Republic of China.
This historically significant commemorative badge, dated 1950, bears the powerful slogan:
("Taiwan Must Be Liberated")
Issued during the early years of the PRC, this badge reflects one of the central political and military objectives proclaimed by the Chinese government following the conclusion of the Chinese Civil War in 1949. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China on the mainland, the Nationalist government retreated to Taiwan, creating one of the most enduring geopolitical divisions of the modern era.
The obverse depicts a determined People's Liberation Army soldier advancing with weapon in hand, accompanied by military imagery symbolizing the revolutionary spirit and aspirations of the period. Such badges served both as propaganda tools and as tangible expressions of political mobilization during the early years of the Cold War in Asia.
Today, artifacts relating to the immediate post-1949 period are increasingly sought after by collectors of:
- Cold War history
- Chinese political memorabilia
- Asian military history
- Propaganda and ideological artifacts
- Twentieth-century historical collectibles
This example has been professionally authenticated and encapsulated by Bao Cui Coins Rating (CCGA), receiving a respectable AU58 grade.
As an authentic survivor from one of the defining geopolitical conflicts of the twentieth century, this badge represents not merely a collectible, but a remarkable witness to history.
