1943 RARE HTF 1st Spanish HAWKMAN El Halcón de la Noche Golden‑Age VGHere’s a bona‑fide unicorn for Golden‑Age and DC‑key hunters: El Halcón de la Noche (#17 in Los Álbumes Preferidos por la Juventud), published in Barcelona by Hispano Americana in 1943, smack in the wartime paper‑ration era. Long considered the earliest Hawkman‑type appearance printed outside the U.S., it predates any DC license and tells a completely original Spanish story. The series ran just 19 issues, sold for one peseta, and was distributed only locally, one of the hardest numbers to obtain. Genuine copies almost never cross the Atlantic. The book presents a solid VG: interior is complete, colors still vibrant, pages supple; only the staples were carefully removed decades ago for flat storage. With Flash Comics #1 (Hawkman’s U.S. debut) commanding five‑ and six‑figure prices today , this scarce Spanish first offers serious upside for investors or graders looking to broaden their foreign‑key portfolio. Packed flat, bagged, boarded - ready for CGC’s new International tier. Don’t miss the chance; you may never see another in this shape.
Acquire a major-key comic at a fraction of its usual price, perfect for display, collection, and investment. These international/foreign editions are particularly scarce due to smaller print runs compared to their US counterparts, increasing their rarity and value. They're becoming more desirable among collectors, representing a great investment opportunity. Often, these foreign comics haven't been stored in protective bags or boards, leading to possible imperfections. Please refer to the provided pictures to assess the condition, and feel free to inquire for more details and images. While I strive to outline any noticeable flaws, comic grading is highly subjective. The thrill of collecting foreign comics lies in the hunt, often involving considerable time and negotiation. I hope you find as much enjoyment in these comics as I have.
