Description
Original 1932 Grand Lodge of Kentucky F. & A.M. Masonic Convention Badge
Scarce vintage Kentucky Freemasonry badge issued for the 132nd Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky F. & A.M., held in Louisville, Kentucky, October 18–20, 1932.
The suspended medal features George Washington in Masonic regalia and is marked:
“GEORGE WASHINGTON BICENTENNIAL 1732–1932”
The reverse carries the Masonic Square & Compasses emblem and reads:
GRAND LODGE OF KENTUCKY F. & A.M.
132nd ANNUAL COMMUNICATION
LOUISVILLE, KY.
OCT. 18–20
1932
Especially interesting is the original identification bar marked “W. H. Cunningham #572.” This refers to W. H. Cunningham Lodge No. 572, formerly located at Hedges in Clark County, Kentucky. The lodge was chartered in 1876 and later consolidated with Winchester Lodge No. 20 in 1936.
A wonderful piece combining Kentucky Masonic history, George Washington memorabilia and 1932 Bicentennial material.
Condition: Original vintage condition with age-related patina, surface wear and discoloration consistent with a badge more than 90 years old. Original pin-back lodge identification bar remains attached. Please examine all photographs closely as they are part of the description.
Sold as shown. No polishing or restoration has been attempted.
