Original vintage advertising ink blotter for Dr. Q. H. Stevens, Doctor of Optometry of Broken Bow, Nebraska, promoting Shelltex Shur-on Glasses. The blotter measures approximately 3.5 x 6 inches and features a nicely rendered portrait illustration of a bespectacled gentleman alongside period typography advertising Shur-on eyewear products. The decorative border incorporates eyeglass-themed motifs, with the slogan “You Need Shur-ons If You Need Glasses” along the lower edge.
These optometry and eyeglass advertising blotters were commonly distributed by local optical specialists and pharmacies during the 1920s–1940s era and are increasingly collected for their Art Deco commercial graphics, small-town medical advertising, and ophthalmic history appeal. This example specifically names Dr. Q. H. Stevens of Broken Bow, Nebraska, giving it added regional and genealogical interest.
Blank reverse. Light age toning and minor wear from use and storage, with attractive overall presentation.
