For sale is a nifty piece of Pittsburgh athletics history...this medal was awarded the 11th place winner of 1929's grueling 50,000 meter, 50 km racewalk...complete with ribbon and box, all in good condition. From a local estate...see our seller's list for more fresh finds. The race was sponsored by the Pittsburgh Press. The medal's maker is the renowned Dieges & Clust, New York jewelers, who also had a Pittsburgh office. Believe the medal is bronze, the front of which features a male athlete in a walking posture flanked on the sides by vertical letters spelling Pittsburgh and Press. The medal is attached to its red, white and blue ribbon and fitted into its cardboard presentation box. The back of the box features recording data which has been filled out. The walker's last name is hard to read. Traband, maybe? See all the pictures for the medal views, box and condition which is good as noted. We didn't try to clean anything. Check our responses and buy with confidence! We are longstanding (last century), top-rated sellers with an exemplary track record. Buyer pays $9 S&H. We always refund any S&H overage...and look forward to reciprocating your positive response. PA residents add 6% sales tax. And thanks for looking. (A human being wrote this description.)
