This is a genuine, vintage 1927 photogravure by renowned ethnologist and photographer Edward S. Curtis. It is a striking and culturally significant image documenting an Oto ceremonial lodge, complete with original marginal titling and copyright text. The paper has full margins and shows typical, honest age wear. The pencil notations on the reverse provide a glimpse into its provenance or cataloging history. An excellent piece for serious collectors of Edward Curtis's work or Native American history.

The back of the print is blank but features a number written twice in pencil near the upper-right corner: "19-156" (image_5.png).

One inscription is smaller at the very top edge, and a larger, more prominent pencil-written "19-156" is just below it (image_6.png). These likely represent inventory, catalogue, or accession numbers from a previous collector, gallery, or archive.

Physical Condition (Detailed):

Image & Tone: The photogravure image area is clear with strong contrast and rich, sepia tones (image_0.png, image_3.png).

Margins: The print possesses full, wide margins on all sides. All four edges of the paper appear to be clean-cut, without deckling (image_4.png).

Edges: The left edge of the paper is relatively straight and clean (image_7.png). The upper-left corner on the reverse shows slight soft wear (image_8.png). The bottom and side margins are generally in good condition, with minor soft corner wear (image_9.png).

General Wear: There is light, natural age-toning and subtle foxing or discoloration spots visible primarily in the margins, consistent with vintage paper.
