Here\'s an early General Electric Multiplier designed to augment the measuring scale on an associated instrument, most likely a voltmeter. The box works by adding resistance inline to whatever is being measured. Since this is a 2x Multiplier, the scale reading on the associated instrument (identified on the gutta percha cabinet tag as 55618) is to be doubled, effectively increasing the measuring capacity of the associated instrument by 100%.
Condition is good overall, and the apparatus appears to be original throughout. Scattered minor marks and nicks in the cabinet consistent with age and authenticity.
Measure\'s approximately 5\" x 5\" x 4. Shipping weight approximately 4 lb.
Please review the pictures and consider them an integral part of the description.
I\'m one of \'s best known, most highly regarded sellers of technical collectibles and technical antiques.I\'ve been sellingand shippingthem for more than 25 years. When you purchase an item from me, you can rest assured that your purchase will arrive safely because it\'s been carefully packed (byme, not by some well-intentioned but nonetheless confounded, doe-eyed teenager working at the UPS store who wouldn\'t know a electric meter from an electric guitar), Sure, you can probably get a lower price from Joe and Janet Barn-Find, but when your \"bargain\" arrives broken, and without any hint of how you might be able to put it back together, you\'ll realize that you really do get exactly what you pay for.
