“A View in Lakeside
Ft Wayne Ind. After
The Big Flood

Standish Photo”
Excellent residential street scene showing the aftermath of the flood in Fort Wayne’s Lakeside neighborhood. Mud and standing water cover the street, with displaced boards and debris visible throughout. The image provides a particularly detailed look at the homes and streets of Lakeside immediately following the disaster.
The location is significant: floodwaters entered Lakeside on March 25, and the Lakeside dikes were subsequently breached, sending water through the neighborhood. Norman P. Standish extensively photographed the Fort Wayne disaster.
Unused divided-back real photo postcard. Image is relatively sharp and displays well, with light toning, spotting and general age-related surface and edge wear. Please examine photographs for exact condition.
