Trumbull Post Office: 1887–Present

Trumbull is a small Clay County community whose postal history dates to the late 19th century. According to the Nebraska State Genealogical Society, the village was platted in 1886, near both the Hamilton and Adams County lines. Its post office had previously been known as Ludlow, with the name changed to Trumbull in 1887. Trumbull reached a peak population of only 236 in 1920, emphasizing the small-town character of this early postal marking.

The postcard was written on January 2, 1912, and addressed to Mrs. J. M. Seaborn, Douglas, Wyoming.

A nice Nebraska card with multiple collecting interests: Trumbull postal history, Hastings local history, Nebraska church architecture and an early 1912 postmark.
