This is an amazing large one-of-a-kind document from the Pennsylvania Railroad that has 3 features:
1) One one side is a 1906 map section of Philadelphia's 27th Ward. It features an area along the Schuykill River & Walnut Street and Market Street areas.2) This other side features a very comprehensive list of land owners who transferred land to the Pennsylvania Railroad. The list of land owners & title transfers date back to 1853 and the list ends in 1948. The list contains the following data: sq ft area, grantor, grantee, title, date, county record info, real estate department, and remarks.3) There is a 2-page letter from 1913 that is stapled to this document. The letter is from a real estate agent and it's addressed to a land owner who is questioning the rights of the Pennsylvania Railroad's rights to land under the under the Walnut Street Bridge. See photos to read each page. This document has a linen base (see photo of corner). There is one fold that you can see in the photos. There is standard wear for a document that is 120 years old, especially around the edges. But the linen base helps keep this document in tact. Please examine all of the photos carefully and message with any questions. This sale ships for FREE!
