The last 119 years were not kind to this one. Oxidation spots. Water spots on left and bottom. 2 small punctures. Spots on the back of the glass above the main image. All shown in photos. The complete set of The North American Indian was 20 volumes. Each volume had an accompanying portfolio of about 36 large image plates. Since this is plate 36, I\'m guessing this was with volume 1. Volume 1 was made in 1907, and volume 20 was finished in 1930. There were less than 300 sets made. A complete set is worth millions. The plate itself is 14.75in x 10.5in. The frame is 17in x 13.5in. There is an envelope on the back which contains a magazine article about Edward Curtis. You get this the way I found it. Damaged and still stunning.
