Edit** after cleaning the eyes, it appears to have glass eyes, and it also appears to be completely covered by gold leaf, and after researching it seems 24k gold leaf was a common treatment for the most important pieces of the time. The gold leaf covering would go under the paint. The reason I think it is covering the body is because there are places where the paint has chipped, and a shiny gold is coming through. I cannot say with 100% certainty this is 24k gold, but from my study, it seems to be the most probable option. I am working with Nuevo Mexicano Heritage Arts Museum to verify and will change listing once complete.
Very old, estimated 18th century bye museum in New Mexico. You can feel the reverence and weightiness while holding her.
