Rare Antique 1892 World’s Columbian Exposition Commemorative Cabinet Plate
Victoria Carlsbad, Austria — In Original Fitted Velvet Presentation Case
Up for sale is an exceptional, museum-quality piece of World’s Fair history: an authentic c. 1891–1892 Victoria Carlsbad porcelain cabinet plate commemorating the 400th Anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s 1492 Landfall at San Salvador, complete inside its original fitted maroon velvet presentation case with brass latch.
Unmatched Scarcity for Collectors
While loose, unboxed examples of this plate appear on rare occasion, there are currently ZERO available for sale anywhere on the internet in the original presentation box, and extensive market research shows NO record of any recent sold listings featuring the complete boxed set. Antique 19th-century velvet display cases with functioning hardware almost never survived intact, making this complete set a remarkably scarce acquisition for the serious World\'s Fair or historical porcelain collector.
