Beautiful group of 10 antique tobacco cards featuring actresses and performers from the late 1880s.
Nine of the cards are from the 1888 P. Lorillard Tiger Fine Cut N253 actress series, with wonderful gold-accented oval portraits and decorative borders.
Identified subjects include Rita, Caroline Miskel-Hoyt, Laura Russell, Maud Hobson, Frances Grahame, Maud Adams, Ellaline Terriss, Nina Farrington and Billie Barlow.
The tenth card features Crouzet and is from a different period actress tobacco-card issue, making this a really fun mixed theatrical group.
CONDITION:
Condition varies throughout the group with age-related toning, spotting, edge wear, surface wear and some small areas of loss.
