For sale is an outstanding compendium of 4 1880s yearbooks.
1884 Bowdoin Bugle
1884 Cornell Cornellian
1885 UC Berkeley Blue & Gold
1885 Williams Gulielmensian
This book was bound by and in the library of the Theta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon, which is the UC Berkeley Chapter. That Chapter was started in 1876, it was the first DKE Chapter west of the Mississippi, and it is still a thriving chapter - 2026 is the Chapter’s 150th Anniversary.
The ‘librarian’ has gone through each yearbook and noted the DKE members in the various clubs, teams, class rosters, etc.
A highlight of the Compendium is the engraved fraternity emblems. They vary by yearbook, and there are actually TWO of the very rare color DKE emblem.
Rarer still, is the Tiffany & Co. (yes, that one!) engraving of the Kappa Alpha KA emblem.
This is a unique piece of DKE memorabilia, which I hope finds the right collector.
The book is in outstanding condition for 140 years-old, the binding is excellent, the leather boards have minimal wear to the corners and edges, there are no loose pages, and the fraternity engravings are bright.
Please note that the yearbook covers and the ad pages have been removed prior to binding - surely to make the compendium easier to bind.
