Here is a great satirical cover from Harpers Weekly magazine, dated October 27, 1877 that features, George B McClellan running his gubernatorial New Jersey race like his Civil War campaign. The cover measures approximately 9.5" x 14.5" and it has a an off-white colored mat that is 2.5" inches wide on three sides and 3 inches along the bottom. The cover is entitled: “All Quiet On the Hudson". "Mr." George B. McClellan In His Element Again - “Running For Something“.
The cover is shrink wrapped which does have some tears in it as it's been knocked around a bit, but the cover is in very good condition, full of great detail, as McClellan considers his course of action with binoculars and signs as he looks at the Hudson River on the NY & NJ Ferry Line. The illustration is by Thomas Nast, whose name can be seen on the left side near the bottom. Thanks for looking at this sale.
