Original 1870 bank check from the First National Bank of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, dated March 30, 1870. Issued by John Rupp, a local furniture dealer, and made payable to Palmer Owen & Co for $64.37. Features a beautiful red printed format with bold handwriting and a rare orange 2-cent U.S. Internal Revenue stamp affixed in the upper-right corner.
The reverse side includes multiple bank stamps and endorsements, including those from City National Bank of Philadelphia, National Park Bank of New York, and Tyrone National Bank. A fine example of 19th-century financial and postal history, ideal for collectors of antique ephemera, Pennsylvania history, or revenue stamped documents.
