1799 NETHERLANDS Letter from Prof. TE WATER to Prof. PESTEL - University of Leiden

The Correspondence:
- Sender:Jona Willem te Water (1740-1822), a renowned Dutch professor of theology and history at the University of Leiden.
- Recipient:Friedrich Wilhelm Pestel (1724-1805), a famous German legal scholar who was a professor at the University of Leiden for over 40 years.
The letter, written in Dutch and dated June 6, 1799, was sent locally within Leiden. The use of French for the address ("à Monsieur le Professeur Pestel") was common practice in academic circles of the time.
