Reproduction of George Washington\'s sword of 1757, later gifted to his nephew Lawrence. Period correct for both the F&I and Revolutionary Wars. The sword is silver plated brass, as was the original. The shape of a colichemarde blade features a wideforte, which abruptly tapers to a much narrower form at a point varying between a fifth to a third of the blade length from the hilt. The blade cross section was most often triangular and hollow-ground. This configuration combines goodparryingcharacteristics, due to the wide blade forte, with the good maneuverability and thrusting characteristics.
The scabbard is tanned leather with white brass furniture.
It is 34 inches long with a 28 inch blade.
