Unfortunately, every performance-praisingsuperlative is usually immediately followed by a comfort-related expletive. Suzuki’s engineers created a brilliantsport (and roadracing) bike in the GSXR, but a number ofstreet riders feel that maybe those Suzuki guys did a littletoo thorough a job. Clip-ons? Rearset footpegs? Comeon. Surely the 1100 would lose little of its sporting edgeif it were just a bit more comfortable.The Motorcyclist staff has a very deep appreciation ofwhat the GSXR can do with a piece of twisting pavement.We chose the Suzuki by a unanimous vote as the Motor-cycle of the Year in 1986—even the janitor felt the Suzukideserved the honor.
