Antique hand quilted pure cotton boutis/provencal quilt about 59\" x 56\".The Art Nouveau floral side is in excellent condition, just a narrow patch about 15\" long close to top, photographed.The plain red side has a couple of untreated ink? stains that did not come out when I lightly washed.Under the Art Nouveau top cover is the original madder fabric, as was the tradition, once a quilt began to wear, another layer was hand quilted over the top.I\'ve taken photos of the boutis rolled up to show the beautifully hand stitched and time worn edges and where the extremely old original fabric is peeping through along with the cotton batting.I have washed and sun-dried, an absolutely beautiful antique hand made boutis/contrepoint/bedcover.
