Original World War II U.S. Army Air Forces brown leather flight jacket manufactured by Scully, featuring a period Air Transport Command (ATC) leather chest patch and original TALON zipper. The jacket exhibits all the classic characteristics of the iconic WWII A-2 style, including a pointed collar, front snap-flap pockets, knit waistband and cuffs, and rayon lining. It displays honest wartime-era wear throughout, including heavy finish crazing, leather patina, worn knit cuffs and waistband, and significant lining deterioration, all consistent with decades of age and use. The Scully manufacturer’s label remains present, although the contract information is no longer legible due to age. The Air Transport Command leather patch appears to be an old period-applied example and presents exceptionally well despite age-related cracking. This is an outstanding display piece with tremendous character and eye appeal for any USAAF or WWII aviation collection. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and accurately represent the condition and configuration of this historic jacket.
