This attractive salmon-colored official mobilization order was issued by the Bezirkskommando (District Command) in Barmen and is dated 31 August 1914, immediately following Germany's mobilization at the outbreak of the Great War.
The document is addressed to a Reserve Officer and orders him to report for duty with the III Battalion, Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 53, with reporting instructions to appear at 8:00 a.m. at the Bezirkskommando Barmen.
These early mobilization orders are highly collectible as they document Germany's rapid military expansion during the first weeks of World War I.
