Up for sale is a beautiful vintage mid-century Chuck-a-Luck \"birdcage\" dice tumbler gambling device, dating from the late 1940s to 1950s. This compact parlor or barware novelty size features an hourglass-shaped metal wire cage mounted on a striking translucent jade-green Catalin/Bakelite upright support pillar and crescent base, complete with its original red ribbed adjustment tightening knob. This features the three original, period-correct miniature green dice inside the cage.
The translucent green plastic housing and red knob are in pristine shape with excellent clarity and zero cracks or chips. The wire frame is structurally sound, spins smoothly, and shows only light, authentic vintage patina with no heavy rust. It measures 4 1/2\" tall x approx. 3 5/8\" in width x 2 1/4\" in width.
