Up for sale is an incredibly unique piece of fast-food and military history: an original Vintage June 1980 McDonald's Midway Island Grand Opening Commemorative Patch.
Measuring approximately 4 inches across, this patch is in exceptional, mint condition. It is completely unused, never sewn, and looks brand new. The threadwork is flawless, and the colors remain as bright and vibrant as the day it was made over four decades ago. It has been safely stored as "New Old Stock" in a smoke-free environment.
This is a premier crossover artifact that appeals to multiple highly dedicated collector markets:
Fast-Food & Pop Culture Historians: Commemorating one of the most remote, unusual, and highly restricted franchises McDonald's ever operated.
U.S. Military & Naval Collectors: A rare piece of Cold War-era "Morale, Welfare, and Recreation" (MWR) history from Naval Air Facility (NAF) Midway Island. These were commissioned specifically for the base's opening day celebration.
The "Oddity" Factor: The Midway franchise was a true historical anomaly—famously staffed entirely by military dependents and authorized to serve beer to the troops stationed on the isolated Pacific outpost.
You will rarely find an original 1980 opening-day patch in this pristine, untouched condition. Please review the high-resolution photos for exact details.
