Vintage Antique 1930s Santa Claus in MicaSleigh & 1950s Plastic Reindeer Japan
A \'Marriage\' for two Types - Early Felt Santa Claus with Spun cotton beardand thin felt legs sitting in a Cardboard Sleigh covered with Mica/glitter. Hehas a tiny Teddy Bear in his sack and a tiny Bottle Brush Tree between hisknees. It is all mounted on a 12\" long Mica covered Board. And There are 4Plastic Reindeer that seem to be from the 1950s.
I bought it this way about 30years ago. Many years later I examined it carefully and I still don\'t knowexactly what they did. The Reindeer were clearly an addition from another time.I think the Mica Board and the Sleigh were always attached. The Santa Clauseand little tree are firmly attached and look age-appropriate. The sack has aslit in it and this very cute Teddy Bear is attached in it. Was this an enhancement?After looking at other Santas like this I think The Santa, Sleigh and board are alloriginal and in Very Good Vintage condition.
The Mica Board has holes/Footprints from the Reindeer and/orshrubbery that were originally there. The Plastic Reindeer that came with it and were stuck onit with Tackly Wax or something like that, are an addition, and although nice,are from the 1950’s. But Altogether it is still pretty nice.
The Board is 12” long and about 3” wide.
The Santa is about 4” high.
Everything is in very Good Vintage Condition.
