Featured is this stunning one-of-a-kind Alaska Native Clay Tsmishian Killerwhale round hanging ornament. The piece is initialed by the artist and titled TSIMSHIAN KILLERWHALE. The hand painted whale is specifically the designated crest style belonging to the Tsimshian Nation's Killerwhale (Blakfish) phatry. The ornament is made from Alaska Native clay which is found in most areas of the state and differs somewhat in color when fired. In its manufacture one or more of clay to create unique, one-of-a-kind patterns. It is then topped with a glossy finish. The killerwhale totem is hand painted and the Alaska and name of the ornament is added before the final glossy finish. The intricate swirl pattern and Alaska Native clay material make it a special piece of art that adds a touch of authenticity to any collection. The piece is approximately 2.75" across and the same top to bottom. There is a small seam in the clay where the pontil was located on the bottom of the piece. It is not a crack. It was glazed over in the final process. Don't miss out on this amazing ONE-OF-A-KIND piece.
