DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is a classic, official 1989 museum reproduction plaque produced by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA). This high-relief tile is a direct casting of the famous 11th-century South Italian elephant ivory plaque, "Plaque with God Creating the Animals" (dated 1084), which originally adorned a church furnishing at the Cathedral of Salerno and is now housed at The Met Cloisters. The relief features intricate, stylized Romanesque artistry depicting the creation story from Genesis, showcasing a haloed Creator alongside a beautiful bestiary of wildlife, including a stag, ox, lion, serpent, and fowl. The resin compound beautifully replicates the natural graining, deep crevices, faux-age hairline venting, and warm cream patina of antique medieval bone and ivory.Size & Measurements:

Dimensions: Approx. 4 x 4 inches square (Thickness approx. 5/16 in.)
Reverse: Features an integrated mounting hanger hole for easy wall display.
