Up for sale is a 1940s varsity basketball award pin made by Bastian Bros. Co. of Rochester, New York. The gold-tone pin features a paneled basketball design with a dark enameled varsity letter “A” in the center.
Suspended from the basketball is a detailed dangle charm depicting a pair of classic high-top basketball shoes with molded laces and circular ankle-star details.
The reverse is marked Bastian Bros. Co., Rochester, N.Y. and has a traditional elongated pin stem with C-clasp closure. The style, construction, and clasp are consistent with 1940s school athletic award pins produced by Bastian Bros.
A great addition to any collection of varsity awards, basketball memorabilia, school athletics, sneaker collectibles, or Bastian Bros. pieces.
