Vintage Rectangular Metal Compact
- The bottom has “Yardley” etched inside a box shape.
- The lid design is from the “Bond Street” line, with alternating cream enamel and gold areas with flourishes.
- The red metal lid latch is working properly.
- The lid hinge is working properly.
- The interior has “Yardley New York” etched into the base side.
- The mirror is absent.
- The left side holds rouge and the right side face powder.
- The rouge compartment is more than half full, covered by a fabric applicator.
- The face powder side has a hinged metal lid with a working latch.
- There are trace amounts of face powder, which is a fair color.
- The rectangular compact is 3.4 inch x 2 inch x 0.5 inch.
- 2.6 ounce weight.
This elegant compact has slight tarnish on the top and a little more on the underside. There is fine wear on the surfaces.
The compact top looks nice as does the interior. The compact stays open.
This is a lovely early 20th century item for a boudoir display.
