This is an authentic, original World War II U.S. Military Woodman’s Pal Model 280 survival tool, manufactured by the renowned Victor Tool Company out of Reading, PA.
While most wartime Woodman's Pals found today feature the mass-produced fabric canvas wrappers, this premium early-contract set includes the highly sought-after rigid steel scabbard. The metal sheath features the authentic "G.B.C." subcontractor stamp. Remarkably, the 80+ year-old leather belt frog attachment and decorative Greek-key snap fastener are completely intact, solid, and functional—a massive rarity, as these leather components usually rotted away decades ago.
This specific unit features the iconic steel D-guard hand knuckle bow wrapping underneath the classic stacked leather washer grip. The blade proudly retains its original, faint vintage manufacturer stampings.
Condition:
This set is in honest, untouched estate-find condition. The blade and scabbard show a beautiful, dark vintage patina and minor surface wear consistent with age and military field use. The cutting edge has small nicks that could easily be sharpened out if desired, but it is being sold entirely as a historical collectible.
Please review the high-resolution photos carefully to judge the condition for yourself. This is an absolute must-have centerpiece for any serious WWII militaria, vintage tool, or edged-history collection.
Shipping: Ships to the United States only. Packaged with extreme care to preserve its historical condition.
